Thank you for your interest in the 2022-2023 North Texas Christian Anglers Team.  We are looking forward to an exciting year of bass fishing.

This will be the club's third season to fish in the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) tournament trail.   The THSBA offers scholarships to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams at each open tournament, and prizes are awarded to the top 14% of weigh-ins.  The top 10 anglers for the Regional and State Championship tournaments receive scholarships.  Hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships are awarded each season.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN COMPETITIVE BASS FISHING?

#highschoolbassfishing

  • Access to a fishing boat with a live well - this can be the most complicated aspect of high school competitive fishing.  Consider family members, neighbors, people from church.  We will make every effort to help those who don't have boat access find one, however, we con not guarantee a boat to be provided.

  • Boat Captain who is at least 21 years old.

  • A Partner: This will be your partner throughout the year for scoring. Students can fish alone if they prefer, but will need to remain alone all year.

  • Parental Involvement: Attend pre-tournament meetings, coordinate with boat captains for pre-fishing and tournaments, and assure that all forms and fees are signed, paid and turned in prior to deadlines.

  • Passing Grades: As THSBA members, we follow UIL rules for grade eligibility for each tournament.  There are specific forms for grade verification that must be submitted with tournament registration.

  • Read and understand  tournament rules and procedures. See THSBA website www.texashighschoolbassassn.com
